Sam Nejabat is a successful businessman and humanitarian who is seeking to “give back” to the community that has been so good to him and his family. Sam grew up in San Diego, attended UC Berkeley (BA & JD), Dartmouth College (MA), worked in the Obama Administration and is presently President of SJN Properties. Gavin Newsom recently formally appointed Sam to the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development as well as the San Diego County Fair Board of Directors.
Sam is the son of immigrants. His parents came to the US in 1979, fleeing persecution. They had less than $1,000, yet both attended medical school, and with hard work and determination, achieved the American Dream of a comfortable life for themselves and a promising future for their son, Sam. He co-founded The LN Foundation that won acclaim for their “Backpack Homeless Kits”, which provide critical essentials to those in need.
As a businessman, Sam believes we must nurture San Diego’s dynamism and creativity. “Our high tech, biotech and medical communities are leading us forward. We have world class universities and cutting-edge companies like Qualcomm. I want to ensure that we harness our creative capacities to solve pressing social problems.”
